Brutal elements, reinventing an unimaginable bear attack, and an epic tale of survival inspired by true events just might be what finally traps Leonardo DiCaprio’s elusive Oscar win for his performance in The Revenant.
DiCaprio plays Trapper, Hugh Glass, who while exploring the uncharted wilderness in 1823, sustains should-be-fatal injuries from a brutal bear attack and his hunting team leaves him for dead. Glass must utilize his survival skills and sheer will to live to fight his way back through a paralyzing winter.
Watch our interview with DiCaprio who shares his admiration for the work Director Alejandro González Iñárritu did in the film, Dohmhall Gleeson who describes the boot camp atmosphere while filming, and González Iñárritu himself who explains the spiritual dimensions of The Revenant.
The Revenant, which is currently playing in theatres nationwide, has won three Golden Globes and is currently nominated for 12 Oscars.
