In Hacksaw Ridge Andrew Garfield plays Desmond Doss, the American Army Medic, who served during the Battle of Okinawa refusing to bear arms during WWII based on religious grounds and became the first man in American history to win the Medal of Honor without firing a single shot.

Garfield shares how he prepared for the role and shares his feelings on Desmond’s bravery, inner strength, and humbleness once back on U.S. soil.

Hacksaw Ridge is currently playing in theatres nationwide
