Lighthouse keeper and war veteran, Tom (Played by Michael Fasbender) and his wife Isabel (played by Alicia Vikander) are living off the coast of Western Australia post World War I seeking a peaceful post war life. One day, the couple rescue a baby they find adrift on a rowboat and after a moral struggle they decide to raise her as their own and name her Lucy. However as Lucy grows older, Tom and Isabel discover the consequences of raising the child when a visit to the mainland and an encounter with a particular woman (Played by Rachel Weisz).
Directed by Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine and A Place Beyond the Pines) The Light Between Oceans takes a powerful look at love, loss, and sacrifices involved with both.
In our interviews with the cast, Fasbender shares the power of love and Vikander shares the powerful storyline.
The Light Between Oceans opens in theatres September 2nd.
